Ophelia Kee Speaks Has Moved!
- January 10, 2025
Dear Reader,
Welcome back to another behind-the-scenes Friday post. The first thing I want to note: What changes and what stays the same?
Allow me to explain. I finally connected Ophelia Kee Speaks with Pinterest. It was a convoluted process, and require the help of Blogger. So instead of publishing the weekly behind-the-scenes blog post on Substack on Fridays, I will now publish it on Blogger. This frees Substack to host the Draoithe Saga Storycast.
Jan. 11 Update: Due to ongoing issues with the YouTube channel, I need to revisit the previous paragraph. Ophelia Kee Speaks will remain on Substack, and the video blog will host on Substack. The YouTube channel isn't going away, but at this time, I feel it's necessary to reprise its role. It will support the Payhip site. I greatly appreciate the support of my subscribers on YouTube, but my time is limited by the day job. I want to write and publish the dream. The YouTube issues are stealing that opportunity.
Don't worry, if you love coming to OpheliaKee.com to get your dream news, nothing about the experience will change. The dream lives on Payhip, and it shall stay on Payhip. I had to add another octopus tentacle, as the dragon calls my promotional efforts, to leverage the organic traffic from Pinterest and the revenue stream from Google Adsense.
To all my readers on Substack, thank you for supporting my efforts. Most of you subscribe to read the story scenes and listen to the podcast. Substack will remain the repository for the sneak peek chapters and serialized fiction stories. If you still want to receive the Ophelia Kee Speaks posts, please join my Newsletter Friends, and it will continue to drop into your email inbox on Friday morning. I'm separating my author journal from the stories in the dream.
I'm also changing how the Draoithe Saga Storycast posts. Beginning with Season Three, instead of publishing a chapter every day, it will post a chapter a week on Sundays beginning January 12, 2025. I can't maintain the pace with which I produced Season One and Two. (I created those episodes before I stumbled over the idea of a story cast.)
The content on Saturdays, in the written story hour, will become free. Look for the paid scenes to go free a few at a time as I shuffle things around. The Mystic Dark Prequel Trilogy will run through the third season. I'll decide at that point if it continues.
For those who want the raw, unfiltered craziness of Ophelia Kee, I remain most active on Substack Notes, and I'll drop a link to Ophelia Kee Speaks there. With such limited time, most of my social media presence is for book promotion or lends video to the miniseries and the Read the Draoithe Saga subscription.

Sneak Peek At Dark Gift
As I write this post, the edits for Dark gift are almost done. I have only a few chapters left to post to the Valkyrie Riders Miniseries. By the time this post goes live, the story may have published as a book or be in some stage of publishing, anyway. Would you like a sneak peek? First, the legalese.

He Was Dead
Flame
... The old laws didn’t take into consideration the magic of vampires because it existed before they did.
“Finish it, Ash!”
“The penalty for forcing a woman is death.”
Ash spoke quietly. Nightshade turned to Luke.
“You promised me I could keep him! Flame is mine. You promised me! You said if I needed anything, to come to you. I need Flame! He’s the only thing in the dream left for me. He alone loves me.”
Luke shook his head.
There was nothing he could do to fix the situation. Flame needed absolution. Luke couldn’t give it to him, but Ash could.
Nightshade turned on Ash.
“You, Lord of Dragons. If you don’t release him to me, I swear I will burn you out of existence. I am den lasair. You will do as I say.”
The flames danced in Nightshade’s eyes, and they glowed over her hands. She stepped toward Ash. He cringed and backed away from her.
If she let the flames go, he would burn. Not even a dragon was immune to the den lasair, not as powerful as she was as a vjestice vampire. Ash would come back with the dawn, but she could have killed him.
“No. Don’t Nightshade, please.”
Flame ordered her as nicely as he could. He needed to finish it quickly.
“Turn him loose, Ash. Give him to me. I can’t do this without Flame. I just can’t.”
Nightshade pleaded with Ash, her anger faded with the directive from Flame.
“My lady, not even a den lasair vampire princess can order the Lord of Dragons. The magic will decide. Flame invoked it. He demanded the rights of the confessor. I didn’t choose. He did.”
Ash turned his attention back to Flame.
“Diarmuid Cinead, are you prepared to receive the sentence for your crimes?”
Ash was in a hurry to finish it. Flame rose to his feet as the magic released him. He accepted his fate.
“Do it so I can get back to work. I have a vampire to love.”
He looked at Luke.
“Please, my king.”
Flame looked at Nightshade and let her feel the truth of his words. Then he admitted it publicly.
“I love you, Nightshade. You are everything. I will come back to you. I promise.”
“Diarmuid Cinead, Dragon Knight and Protector of the Realm of Draoithe, you have guilt for failing to protect the innocent, coercion of the innocent through veritas magic, oath-breaking, and forcing a woman. I, Emrick Driscoll, Lord of Dragons, sentence you to die four times by the Druid magic which made us.”
Four days in the underworld meant he would return with no knowledge of his kings, queens, or the Valkyrie. He wouldn’t remember collaring himself, saving Nightshade, swearing his oath, or linking with his mate.
He hoped Luke would have pity for him. If not, it would all disappear as if it had never happened.
“Please, my king.”
Flame requested again, fearful of all he wouldn't remember, and Luke nodded.
Ash pronounced the sentence, and the magic left him. He slumped to his knees and didn’t rise again immediately. When he rose, he wiped the tears from his face.
“I’m sorry. I never should have let them raise me again as a Lord of Dragons. This isn’t what I wanted.”
“No. We chose the right man for the job. Flame needed you to get absolution. You don’t have to like it. You just had to make it happen. It’s what you should have done five centuries ago. He was simply too good of a man and too brokenhearted to force the issue.”
Blaze hissed at Ash as the magic took Flame in the purple and black light of the Netherworld. Flame screamed in agony as he fell back to his knees. The magic lashed him mercilessly. His blood soaked through his clothes and dripped to the concrete driveway, staining it red. Finally, he slumped forward and didn’t move again. He was dead.
Sorry to drop you into the end of the scene and leave you hanging, but it's a sneak peek, not the entire story. If you want more and enjoy serialized fiction, or you want the ebook, audiobook or paperback, please visit OpheliaKee.com. The miniseries already exist, and the books arrive as soon as I can post everything. Thank you so much for stepping into the dream once again. I hope you have a lovely weekend. Please remember to be kind and leave your reviews when you read. Welcome to the dream...
Be careful!
Happy Reading,
Ophelia Kee
